Travel Affiliate Programs
LinkApprove lists 20 travel affiliate programs, including Booking.com, Away, Samsonite, each available through one account with a single payout.
Travel commissions are validated on completed stay rather than booking, which means longer hold periods, 60 to 90 days is normal. In exchange, the vertical has the longest cookie windows in the directory and very high order values.

Commission rate alone tells you very little. Read it against the average order value and the cookie window.

Questions
Travel affiliate programs
What are the best travel affiliate programs?
LinkApprove lists 20 travel affiliate programs including Booking.com, Away, Samsonite, Expedia. The best one for you depends on your audience rather than the headline rate, the highest commission percentage is frequently not the highest earning program once average order value and cookie window are accounted for.
What commission do travel affiliate programs pay?
Travel programs on LinkApprove pay between Up to 4% of stay value and Up to 7% per sale. Rates are set by the advertiser, not by LinkApprove, and frequently vary by product category within the same program.
Why does travel commission take so long to be paid?
Because it validates after the stay, not after the booking. A booking made in March for a July trip does not begin its hold period until July. Hold periods here run 60 to 90 days on top of that, which makes travel the slowest-paying category in the directory and the one where a pending balance is least useful as a forecast.
Are hotel programs or metasearch programs better?
Direct hotel programs pay a share of a larger booking but only on completed stays. Metasearch pays on the referral and validates faster, at a lower rate. Which is better depends on whether your audience books far ahead, in which case the wait is the deciding factor, or close to travel, in which case it barely matters.
Do travel affiliate programs pay on cancelled bookings?
No. A cancellation reverses the commission in full, and cancellation rates in travel are meaningfully higher than return rates in retail because plans change. This is the main reason travel earnings look better in pending than in validated, and it is why we show validated figures by default.
What kind of travel content converts best?
Specific and dated. A named hotel in a named city for a named month converts far better than a destination guide, because the reader is choosing rather than dreaming. Long cookie windows help here more than in any other category, since the gap between inspiration and booking is measured in weeks.
