Curated list

Highest paying affiliate programs

The highest paying affiliate programs are not the ones with the highest percentage rate. They are the ones where the rate applied to the average basket produces the most commission per conversion, which is why a 4% program on a $425 order outpays a 10% program on a $65 one.

How these were chosen

Publishing the criteria is what separates a useful list from an arbitrary one.

  • Ranked on indicative commission per conversion, not headline percentage
  • Calculated as the advertiser's rate applied to the program's average order value
  • Flat bounties counted at face value
  • Only programs currently listed and passing our content gate

Placement on this page cannot be bought. See our advertising policy.

Headline commission rate is the most misleading number in affiliate marketing. It is the figure every directory sorts on, and it routinely ranks a 10% program on a $50 basket above a 5% program on a $1,200 one, a difference of $55 per conversion in the opposite direction to the ranking.

This page sorts on the figure that actually lands in your balance. The trade-off is that high-value programs convert less often: a furniture sale is rarer than a lipstick sale, and a page of high-ticket programs is not automatically the most profitable set for a given audience. Read this alongside the fit notes on each program page rather than instead of them.

Questions

Highest paying affiliate programs

What is the highest paying affiliate program?

Measured on commission per conversion, Burrow pays the most of any program in the LinkApprove directory, roughly $87 on a typical order, because 6% of a $1,450 basket is worth more than a high percentage of a small one. Saatva follows at a flat $75 per mattress sale. Measured on percentage rate alone, Drunk Elephant, Sunday Riley, Brooklinen and Glossier lead at up to 10%.

Is a higher commission percentage always better?

No, and this is the most common costly mistake in program selection. Commission per conversion is the rate multiplied by the average order value. A 4% program on a $425 average order pays $17; a 10% program on a $65 order pays $6.50. The lower percentage pays nearly three times more.

Do high-ticket affiliate programs convert less often?

Yes, materially. Furniture, mattresses and premium electronics involve weeks of deliberation and comparison, so click-to-sale rates run far below fashion or beauty. High-ticket programs reward patience and long-form comparison content rather than volume.
